Pump School is designed and intended to give IBCLCs and other health care professionals a working understanding of hospital grade and personal use breastpumps. After completion of this course, participants will be able to: Explain the difference between E0603 and E0604 breastpumps and their respective indications for use; Assist breastfeeding families to choose a breastpump which is appropriate for their needs; Educate families on differences in cycles per minute, wave form, and suction levels for the most common hospital and personal use breastpumps in their region of practice; Demonstrate working knowledge of assembly, use and cleaning of breastpump kits; Verbalize knowledge of CDC and FDA guidelines relevant to breastpumps; Troubleshoot common problems with breastpumps; Knowledgeably discuss the US Affordable Care Act as it relates to accessing breastpumps and lactation care. 2 L-CERPS from IBLCE have been applied for.
