Community Sliding Fee Discount Program
Atlanta Birth Center is committed to fully implementing the NHSC Sliding Fee Discount Program as part of our mission to provide accessible, community-centered maternity care.
The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Sliding Fee Discount Program is a federally supported initiative designed to increase access to essential healthcare services for individuals and families with limited financial resources. All patients seeking health care services at Atlanta Birth Center will be served regardless of ability to pay. No one is refused service because of lack of financial means to pay. This program is designed to provide free or discounted care to those who have no means, or limited means, to pay for their medical services (uninsured or underinsured).
Atlanta Birth Center will offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program to all who are unable to pay for their services. Atlanta Birth Center will base program eligibility on a person’s ability to pay and will not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Federal Poverty Guidelines are used in creating and annually updating the sliding fee schedule to determine eligibility.
Please note: Before applying for the Sliding Fee Discount Program, you must first apply for Pregnancy Medicaid using the following link:
https://medicaid.georgia.gov/peachcare-kids/pregnant-women
Once you receive a determination letter, you may then apply for the Sliding Fee Discount Program. If you are denied Medicaid, you must submit proof of the denial.
Please keep in mind that if your Medicaid application is denied due to missing or incomplete information, you will be required to submit all necessary documentation and complete the Medicaid application process before we can move forward with your Sliding Fee Discount Program application.
All required Medicaid application documents must be submitted in full for review before eligibility for the sliding scale can be determined.
