Born in the coastal city of Galveston, Texas, and raised under the sunny skies of Tampa, Florida, Asha, is a midwife with a spirited commitment to health, with over seven years of specialized experience in Labor and Delivery and is devoted to empowering families through their birthing journeys and beyond. Asha's career is marked by her compassionate approach and commitment to holistic practices. Her journey into this field was deeply personal, beginning with her first pregnancy in 2002. This transformative experience ignited a profound interest in childbirth and maternal care. Compelled to deepen her understanding and prepare for her first birth, she pursued education in childbirth, Lamaze, and other holistic birth practices, which resonated with her belief in nurturing and natural care.

After being a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother of three for fifteen years, In 2017, Asha, graduated with an undergraduate degree in Nursing, a milestone she achieved while balancing motherhood. Driven by a determination to broaden her expertise, her resilience and dedication led her to the innovative path of travel nursing, a choice that not only financed her graduate studies but also enriched her perspective through diverse experiences in various healthcare settings across the nation. She has worked across various settings, from bustling city hospitals to community clinics, adapting her skills to meet the diverse needs of the communities she serves. This broadened understanding has made her an even more empathetic and effective midwife, as she brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to her practice. 

Today, Asha holds a Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Midwifery. Her hands-on approach and dedication to holistic health have made her a beloved figure among the families she serves. She is committed to providing care that respects the emotional and physical needs of all birthing people, advocating for empowering, client-centered experiences.

When she is not attending births or consulting with expectant families, Asha can be found enjoying her nearly empty nest, thriving on the simple pleasures of life and indulging in her hobbies which are as grounding as they are rejuvenating. Whether she’s having fireside chats with family and friends, enjoying sunny beach days, cooking savory dishes, or tending to her beloved peach tree and flourishing garden, Asha, embodies the spirit of care and resilience. Her peach tree and garden are not just hobbies but a testament to her nurturing character, mirroring the care she provides to her clients.

After years of practicing in different settings, she is excited to have found her home in community birth, and is thrilled to be serving the families of Atlanta Birth Center, where she got to train as a midwife. With each family she supports, Asha not only shares in one of the most significant moments of their lives but also leaves a lasting impact that extends well beyond the birth itself. Through her dedication and commitment to holistic care, Asha Akachi is truly a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration.
