Kate Dirks, CNM
PRN Midwife
(Pronouns: she/her) completed a BA in Biology at Oberlin College and her midwifery training at Emory University. She is a dual-certified Nurse Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner. Kate is an advocate for agency and dignity in the health care setting. She comes to midwifery with a passion for social and reproductive justice, and believes that access to midwifery care is essential to improved health outcomes in Georgia and beyond. Before becoming a midwife, Kate worked as a researcher in infectious disease and microbiology. She enjoys helping people make informed decisions based on evidence, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. In addition to her work at the Atlanta Birth Center, Kate provides family planning services and GYN care at a clinic serving high-need populations. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Georgia ACNM.
Kate lives in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta. In her free time, she enjoys playing the violin, keeping bees, and spending time with her two cats and her partner, Vance.
