Sandi Angotti, CNM
Midwife
Sandi Angotti (she/her/hers) joined Atlanta Birth Center in early 2016 as the original nurse manager, and has been here ever since in various roles including student midwife, midwife fellow, full-time midwife, and CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) team lead.
Sandi first became a birth worker in 2003 when she started teaching prenatal and postpartum yoga, which led to becoming a DONA certified doula when her yoga students started asking her to support them directly during their labors. She attended births as a doula for five years before moving on to nursing school at Georgia State University.
After receiving her bachelor's in nursing, Sandi worked as a labor and delivery nurse, taught Lamaze childbirth education, and continued teaching prenatal yoga. She later received her master's of science in nursing from Emory University and joined the midwifery team at Atlanta Birth Center.
Sandi lives in Decatur with her wife of 25 years and their son. When she's not keeping busy with midwifery, you can find her hiking, gardening, traveling, exercising, relaxing with my friends and family, or studying herbal and functional medicine.
