Stacy Ulmer, CNM
Associate Midwife Director
Stacy was born in South Florida and has lived in the southeast most of her life. She was drawn to healthcare from a young age and knew she wanted to help others, but unsure of what path she wanted to take. During her travel abroad opportunities, she realized her specialty and passion was working with and empowering families and birthing people. Stacy initially graduated with honors from Georgia Southern University with a bachelors in Biology. After her undergraduate degree, she continued her education at Medical College of Georgia and received a Masters in Nursing. From there, Stacy worked as an Emergency Department nurse in Charleston, SC; it was a great experience but she knew being a midwife was her goal. She moved to Denver in 2012 and completed a post-masters certificate in Nurse-Midwifery at the University of Colorado. Since then, Stacy has worked at a private practice in the Atlanta area. She has always recognized the importance of family-centered, holistic care and quickly realized that her passion lay in an out-of-hospital setting. This was reinforced with her own wonderful experience of the birth of her second daughter at Atlanta Birth Center in 2017. She has been at the Atlanta Birth Center since 2018.
As a midwife, she believes it is her responsibility to listen, empower, and advocate for birthing people while providing a safe environment for them and for their babies to enter this world. Stacy believes in shared decision-making where clients and families play an active role in their healthcare decisions with a midwife’s guidance.
Stacy lives in the Atlanta area with her husband, three kids and pup. She enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, yoga, reading, and biking; she is also a certified yoga instructor with a specialization in prenatal yoga. She is so grateful to be a part of your journey.
